SANKOFA: as religiões de matrizes africanas na produção científica da Ciência da Informação

Abstract

RESUMO: Este estudo apresenta um panorama da produção científica sobre religiões de matrizes africanas na Ciência da Informação. O objetivo geral é mapear a produção de conhecimento que aborda religiosidades na área. Os objetivos específicos consistem em: a) apresentar um panorama das publicações científicas sobre o tema; b) analisar padrões temáticos emergentes dessa produção científica; c) identificar os pesquisadores, as instituições às quais estão vinculados e os periódicos que publicam essas produções. A revisão de literatura está ancorada em autores como Santos (2023); Fanon (2008) para uma abordagem decolonial; Nogueira (2020) para a compreensão do racismo religioso; Nascimento (2008) para abordar o conceito de Sankofa e Saracevic (1996) para abordar a interdisciplinaridade da Ciência da Informação. A metodologia empregada é de natureza bibliográfica e documental, com levantamento realizado na Base de dados em Ciência da Informação (BRAPCI), Base de Dados do Encontro Nacional de Pós Graduação em Ciência da Informação (BENANCIB), e o Selo Nyota. Os descritores utilizados para a busca foram: Candomblé, Jurema, Umbanda, Terreiro, Religião afro-brasileira e Matriz Africana. Os critérios de inclusão dos trabalhos foram: ano de publicação, título, resumo, palavras-chave e objetivos. A sistematização e análise dos dados foram realizados com apoio do Google Planilhas. Os resultados evidenciam uma produção científica incipiente, com 21 trabalhos identificados na BRAPCI, 17 na BENANCIB e 11 capítulos de livros no Selo Nyota. Observa-se a presença de pesquisadores e pesquisadoras vinculados a instituições públicas de ensino superior. As temáticas versam sobre a relação entre Informação e memória; Organização e representação da informação; Mediação e cultura; Patrimônio cultural; Informação e relações de gênero; Informação, combate ao racismo religioso e desinformação; Cultura Material e documento e por último Universo informacional. Conclui-se que, embora incipiente, há uma produção científica em torno dessa temática, evidenciando esforços de construção de uma Ciência da Informação plural, comprometida com as diversas formas de produção e circulação de saberes de grupos historicamente marginalizados. Espera-se que este estudo sirva de subsídio para futuras investigações. Para produções futuras, recomenda-se mapear produções monográficas, teses e dissertações, bem como a presença (ou ausência) dessas temáticas em acervos e serviços de bibliotecas, iniciativas de mediação da informação afro-religiosa em bibliotecas e instituições de memória.___ABSTRACT: This study presents an overview of scientific production on Afro-Brazilian religions within the field of Information Science. The general objective is to map the knowledge production that discusses religiosity in the area. The specific objectives are: a) to provide an overview of scientific publications about on the theme; b) to analyse emerging thematic patterns within this scientific production; c) to identify the researchers, the institutions to which they are affiliated, and the academic journals in which these works are published. The literature review is anchored in authors such as Santos (2023); Fanon (2008) for a decolonial approach; Nogueira (2020) for understanding religious racism; Nascimento (2008) to address the concept of Sankofa and Saracevic (1996) to address the interdisciplinarity of Information Science. The methodology employed is bibliographic and documental in nature, with a survey conducted using the Information Science Database (BRAPCI), the Database of the National Meeting of Post Graduation in Information Science (BENANCIB), and Selo Nyota Editorial. The descriptors used in the search were: Candomblé, Jurema, Umbanda, Terreiro, Afro-brazilian Religion and African matrix. The inclusion criteria of the work were: year of publication, title, abstract, keywords and objectives. Data systematization and analysys were conducted with the support of Google Spreadsheets. The results emphasize an incipient scientific production, with 21 works identified in BRAPCI, 17 in BENANCIB and 11 book chapters in Selo Nyota Editorial. There is a notable presence of both male and female researchers affiliated with public higher education institutions. The topics focus on the relations between information and memory; organization and representation of information; Mediation and culture; Cultural heritage; Information and Gender Relations; Information, The fight against religion racism and disinformation; Material Culture and Documents and lastly the informational universe. It is concluded that, although still incipient, there is scientific production on this topic, which highlights efforts of construction to build an Information Science plural engaged with various forms of knowledge production and circulation of historically marginalized groups. It is expected that this study will serve as a basis for future research and publications. For upcoming works, it is recommended to map the production of monographs, thesis and dissertations, as well as the presence (or absence) of these themes in archives and library services, and initiatives for the mediation of afro-religious information in libraries and memory institutions.
