| Resumo: | RESUMO A presente monografia procura analisar o “Festejo de São Raimundo Nonato em Timbiras-MA” por meio da tradição e memória. Desse modo, sabe-se que as vivências e percepções da população em relação aos traços simbólicos do festejo de São Raimundo Nonato representam um importante aspecto da preservação da memória coletiva e da identidade cultural na cidade de Timbiras. A valorização dessa temática é fundamental para fortalecer os laços comunitários, estimular o sentimento de pertencimento e perpetuar tradições que carregam significados históricos, religiosos e sociais. Com isso, objetivou-se com este trabalho compreender as vivências e percepção da população acerca dos traços simbólicos do festejo de São Raimundo Nonato. O trabalho trata de discussões importantes como, por exemplo: a historicidade do festejo de São Raimundo Nonato na referida cidade; festejo de São Raimundo Nonato em Timbiras: manifestação de tradição e memória coletiva; outra discussão relevante para pesquisa é abordada em: festejos católicos - construção da identidade cultural local e preservação das práticas e saberes populares. O texto monográfico buscou-se explorar temas relacionados à identidade, cultura e saberes populares, abordando ainda a memória, fé e tradição na Igreja Católica. Por fim, esse estudo contribui para o reconhecimento do festejo de São Raimundo Nonato como um patrimônio imaterial de grande valor, reforçando a necessidade de políticas e ações voltadas para sua preservação e fortalecimento. A pesquisa aponta, ainda, para a relevância de iniciativas que promovam o diálogo entre tradição e contemporaneidade, garantindo que essa celebração continue a ser um pilar da memória e da cultura de Timbiras. Esse trabalho monográfico apoia-se teoricamente e metodologicamente nos seguintes autores/as: Aleixo (2016), Almeida (2021), Costa (2024), Cruz et all (2008), Franco Jr. (2003), Freitas (2018), Gallo et all (2020), Hall (2006), entre outros. |
| Descrição: | ABSTRACT The population's experiences and perceptions in relation to the symbolic features of the celebration of São Raimundo Nonato represent an important aspect of preserving collective memory and local cultural identity. Valuing this theme is fundamental to strengthening community ties, stimulating a feeling of belonging and perpetuating traditions that carry historical, religious and social meanings. Therefore, the aim of this work was to understand the population's experiences and perception of the symbolic features of the celebration of São Raimundo Nonato. The work was structured into chapters and subchapters, aiming to facilitate the organization and understanding of the proposed content. The first chapter, entitled “The historicity of the celebration of São Raimundo Nonato in Timbiras-MA”, addressed the historical context of the celebration and the construction of the chapel in honor of the saint. The second chapter, called “Festival of São Raimundo Nonato in Timbiras-MA: manifestation of tradition and collective memory”, highlighted the biography of São Raimundo Nonato, as well as the celebration in his honor as an expression of cultural identity in Timbiras-MA, emphasizing its ritual and symbolic elements. Finally, the third chapter, “Catholic celebrations: construction of local cultural identity and preservation of popular practices and knowledge”, explored themes related to identity, culture and popular knowledge, also addressing memory, faith and tradition in the Catholic Church, in addition to other Catholic celebrations held in the municipality. This study contributes to the recognition of the celebration of São Raimundo Nonato as an intangible heritage of great value, reinforcing the need for policies and actions aimed at its preservation and strengthening. The research also points to the relevance of initiatives that promote dialogue between tradition and contemporary times, ensuring that this celebration continues to be a pillar of the memory and culture of Timbiras.This monographic work is theoretically and methodologically supported by the following authors: Aleixo (2016), Almeida (2021), Costa (2024), Cruz et all (2008), Franco Jr. (2003), Freitas (2018), Gallo et all (2020), Hall (2006), among others. |
