| Resumo: | O trabalho investiga a participação feminina em pleitos eleitorais maranhenses, com foco na eleição de 2024 para a Câmara Municipal de São Luís. O objetivo da pesquisa é compreender de que forma o capital político familiar influencia a campanha de mulheres na política institucional, a partir da análise das campanhas digitais de duas candidatas: Clara Gomes e Thay Evangelista, ambas estreantes nas urnas e esposas dos deputados estaduais Osmar Filho e Neto Evangelista, respectivamente. O estudo adota uma abordagem qualitativa, utilizando a técnica de análise de conteúdo aplicada às publicações realizadas no Instagram pelas candidatas e por seus respectivos cônjuges durante o período eleitoral. A pesquisa dialoga com autores como Pierre Bourdieu, Joan Scott e Luciana Panke para refletir sobre a mobilização de capitais políticos familiares nas estratégias de campanha, bem como os desafios enfrentados por mulheres em contextos eleitorais marcados por estruturas patriarcais. A análise evidencia que, embora o número de candidaturas femininas tenha crescido, muitas trajetórias seguem sendo viabilizadas por vínculos familiares com figuras políticas masculinas, no caso do Maranhão, principalmente seus maridos, revelando a persistência de padrões patriarcais e a limitação da construção de uma representatividade feminina autônoma na política local. |
| Descrição: | This work investigates female participation in electoral contests in the state of Maranhão, focusing on the 2024 elections for the São Luís City Council. This research aims to understand how family political capital influences women's campaigns within institutional politics, through the analysis of the digital campaigns of two candidates: Clara Gomes and Thay Evangelista, both first-time candidates and respectively the wives of state deputies Osmar Filho and Neto Evangelista. The study adopts a qualitative approach, using content analysis techniques applied to Instagram posts by the candidates and their spouses during the electoral period. The research engages with authors such as Pierre Bourdieu, Joan Scott, and Luciana Panke to reflect on both the mobilization of family political capital in campaign strategies and the challenges faced by women in electoral contexts marked by patriarchal structures. The analysis reveals that although the number of female candidates has increased, many trajectories continue to be enabled primarily through family ties to male political figures, in the case of Maranhão especially their husbands, highlighting the persistence of patriarchal patterns and the limitations on building autonomous female political representation at the local level. |
