| Descrição: | Motor development of students participating in school track and field. The objective of the study was to analyze the impacts of the motor experiences of students who participated in track and field during their school years. The specific objectives were: to identify the sports that most readily allow for associations between movements and track and field events; to characterize the main contributions of track and field movements to an individual’s motor development based on the movement associations experienced in various sports; and to identify the sports that present the greatest motor challenges for track and field athletes during their school years. Keywords: Motor Skills, School, Track and Field. The methodology involved a narrative literature review that addressed topics such as: motor learning; motor specialization in track and field; and multifaceted training in track and field. The results indicated that track and field, as a sport taught in school, serves as a foundation for learning other sports, and that students who participate in this activity tend to be better able to learn other movement patterns found in other sports more efficiently and quickly. Based on the specialized literature, it can be concluded that learning the natural movements of running, jumping, and throwing serves as a foundation for learning other sports in the school setting. |
