O estudo reforça a necessidade de implementação de protocolos de saúde mental, visando a integralidade da assistência e o fortalecimento do binômio mãe-filho.__ABSTRACT: Introduction: The postpartum period corresponds to a phase of significant changes in a woman's life, involving physical, emotional, and social aspects that can increase her vulnerability to psychological distress and the onset of mental disorders. This vulnerability is intensified by a lack of support and the romanticization of motherhood, which silence the woman's suffering. If not identified early, this suffering can evolve into serious conditions, compromising the emotional bond with the newborn and family well-being. objective: To analyze the available scientific evidence regarding nursing contributions to the promotion of mental health in postpartum women in Primary Health Care. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review was conducted in LILACS, BDENF, MEDLINE (via BVS), and SciELO databases, with a complementary search on Google Scholar (2011 to 2025). The research was guided by the PRISMA checklist, being developed from the elaboration of the research question, followed by the establishment of criteria for study selection. Subsequently, the selected publications were read and critically analyzed, allowing for the interpretation of the findings and their systematic presentation. Controlled descriptors combined with Boolean operators were used, and the search strategy was defined by the PICo acronym. Original articles and reviews available in full, in Portuguese and English, were included. Duplicate studies, grey literature (monographs, theses, and dissertations), and articles misaligned with the study's theme were excluded. Results: Eighty-eight studies were identified, and after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 23 were selected to constitute the final sample. Four thematic axes were identified: Biopsychosocial factors associated with mental health in the postpartum period; Main mental disorders in the postpartum period; Nursing practice in maternal mental health; and Strategies and interventions in primary health care: educational technology as a care tool. The studies showed the prevalence of depressive and anxious symptoms associated with low income, a previous history of mental disorders, and, primarily, the fragility of social support networks. The results indicate that nursing consultations based on qualified listening and the application of postpartum depression screening scales, associated with home visits, constitute the main strategy for the early identification of problems, although gaps persist in the technical preparation of professionals for the management of mental health in Primary Care. Final considerations: It is concluded that the use of educational technologies is an essential strategy for health literacy among postpartum women and for the systematization of nursing care. The study reinforces the need for the implementation of mental health protocols, aiming at comprehensive care and strengthening the mother-child bond.pt_BR
