Os resultados subsidiam pesquisadores, educadores e gestores na identificação de lacunas e no direcionamento de futuras investigações e intervenções educativas.__ABSTRACT: Introduction: Pressure injuries (PI) are preventable adverse events that impact the quality of care and patient safety, with the nursing team playing a key role in their prevention. Professionals' knowledge on the subject directly influences the effectiveness of care practices and the reduction of these injuries' incidence. General Objective: To analyze the scientific production on the assessment of nursing professionals' knowledge about PI through a bibliometric study. Methodology: This is a bibliometric study with a quantitative approach, carried out in the Scopus database. The search strategy was structured by combining three groups of descriptors intercalated by the Boolean operator AND: the first group, referring to the injury, comprised ("pressure injury" OR "pressure ulcer" OR "pressure sore" OR "bedsore"); the second, on knowledge assessment, comprised ("knowledge assessment" OR "knowledge evaluation" OR "knowledge level" OR "knowledge"); and the third, referring to professionals, comprised ("nursing" OR "nurses" OR "nursing professionals"). A total of 311 original articles published between 1992 and 2025 were included after applying eligibility criteria. Data were processed using RStudio software with the Bibliometrix and Biblioshiny packages, applying Lotka's, Bradford's and Zipf's laws. Results: Scientific production showed expressive growth from 2016 onwards, peaking in 2025 (41 articles). The most productive countries were Turkey (118), China (113) and the United States (82). The most productive and influential author was Beeckman, D. (10 articles; 232 local citations). Lotka's law showed that 89.8% of authors published only one article, indicating high author turnover and non-adherence to the classic model. The six Bradford core journals concentrated 35.7% of the production. The most frequent keywords were "human", "pressure ulcer", "decubitus", "knowledge" and "questionnaire". Five thematic clusters and emerging trends such as medical device-related injuries, simulation and implementation science were identified. Conclusion: The research field on nursing knowledge assessment on PI is expanding, with consolidation of a core of reference authors and journals, but still marked by high author turnover and collaborative asymmetry. The results support researchers, educators and managers in identifying gaps and directing future investigations and educational interventions. |
