Título: COMPETÊNCIAS PARA O GESTOR PORTUÁRIO: um estudo de caso do complexo portuário de São Luís

Resumo: These work investigates the necessary skills for managing the port, with the object of research the port complex of São Luís - MA. The theoretical approach contemplated by this work rests on the studious to modern people management, discussion themes as contemplated Competency Management and Human Skills focusing on the development of the individual studies. The objective was therefore to analyze the core competencies required for the performance of the port manager, identifying the knowledge, skills and attitudes that build the capacity of professionals who hold management positions in the context of port operations of St. Louis, in addition to verifying the consistency of these skills with (PPP) Policy Project Course of Directors of the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA). The methodological approach of this study was structured based on the means and ends of inquiry: on the purposes, research rests on a study culminating event of the descriptive analysis. Descriptive by exposing the main Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes and therefore powers for port manager of St. Louis thus establishing correlations between the results obtained and the PPP Administration course UFMA, and as to the means, used to analyze of specific literature on the management of people and management skills, in order to contemplate the analyzes of the results from the investigations. To collect data, a questionnaire via the online platform has been used as a tool resource for implementation of the study containing the inquiries described as the theoretical model. It was concluded at the time of this research, that the knowledge with a higher average rating corresponds to the themes of Health and Safety qualification that gets " Critical ", followed by the knowledge in Risk Management and Control, Production and Logistics, Domain Tools own techniques the port Management and Domain of another language, all being qualified as " Very Important" and, therefore, indispensable to the port manager. Have the skills that stood out were: Ability to control and delegate activities, by conducting teamwork, time management skills, and; capacities for resilience and adaptability. These skills were measured as " Very Important” and thus given as constraints to the success of port management capabilities. Attitudes better evaluated in turn, were qualified with full marks, well established as "Critical" to, namely: Ethical Behavior, Commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization; Honesty and Responsibility and; Valuation of man. These attitudes should govern the decision making of port managers. On these results, it can be observed that the skills, attitudes and competencies for port managers have significant congruence with the PPP Administration course, however, knowledge Question, showed a low and unsatisfactory convergence of knowledge resulting from this research and egress course offered by Administration UFMA.
