Abstract

ABSTRACT This monograph discusses the impact of the Supplier Development Program, as a link between local suppliers and large companies, in the social and economic indicators of the state of Maranhão. The Supplier Development Program (PDF) emerges as a possibility to adjust the dichotomy between peripheral and central states with the proposal to qualify, develop and train local suppliers - whether of inputs or labor - in order to meet the needs of supply of large companies installed in the State and from there generate a multiplier effect of training and qualification of the local market. In this way, the PDF would result in a public policy shaped to meet the specificities typical of the State capable of generating the multiplier effect necessary to stimulate regional development.
