Descrição: ABSTRACT This research was marked in the subject called Education in/on field with focus on Agricultural Family School Sister Rita Lore Wicklein, which is located in the Community Quilombola Monte Cristo, in the city of Codó - MA. This institution adopts the Pedagogy of Alternation (PA) as a teaching method, whose pedagogical practice aims at the integral formation of the student as subject and not patient education you receive. The talks investigation into the Pedagogy of Alternation since its inception in France, his arrival in Brazil and its trajectory in Maranhão to reach the city of Codó. Interdisciplinary practice methodology in the classroom and beyond, the Pedagogy of Alternation is revealed in this research in an open environment the theoretical and practical activities that become challenges for teachers and students, with a view to construction and dissemination of scientific knowledge, without, however, losing sight of the cultural and social context in which the EFA is located. In this analysis of EFA also seek to better understand the target audience of the Agricultural Family School of Monte Cristo, from teaching testimony and interviews with families of students. The survey also brings elements that can help suppress the lack of academic research into the EFA Monte Cristo as an institution that promotes education for switching among the difficulties even for teaching formal application by the public system. The emphasis on the theoretical reference was guided by Jean-Claude Gimonet (GIMONET, 2007) scholar who devoted his professional life to the Pedagogy of Alternation in Maisons Familiales Rurales in France, first as monitor and subsequently, as director of one of them. The methodology proposed initial sat in a bibliographic search of literature accessible on Field Education, researches on Post-doctoral theses, dissertations and master scientific articles published and available on the internet that deal with the Pedagogy of Alternation. In the second moment, we spent doing studies on Oral History, since this was used for oral information, through interviews with teachers and parents of the learners of the EFA of Codó - MA. This research has become possible also know that superficially, training by alternation developed in School Agricultural Family of Codó - MA, Where one is seeking the integral formation of the human being, aiming at the construction of a citizen committed to social issues, environmental, economic, intellectuals, etc., without, however, one of these overlap to others. During the observations of didactic-pedagogical activities in room was possible to check the teaching correlated that has in the EFA, where your monitors are seeking dialog with other areas of knowledge. It was clear from the investigation that a large part of the 16 communities represented by the students of the EFA suffers with the permanent absence of public power, once that lacks schools, teachers, piped water, health posts and various public policies for the inclusion of these communities that live in the field. And that the EFA in this context is placed as an alternative to form citizens aware of their rights and of their duties to the development of their communities with the purpose to change this situation.
