Descrição: ABSTRACT Despite the numerous psychology studies about Quality of Work Life, almost none of them deals with issues concerning the rural activities. Conversely, in the last years, the interest about Family-Based Organic Farming (FBOF) is spreading. It happens because this practice is ecologically correct, as there is no use of pesticides, hormones, fertilizers and other chemical-synesthesic addictives that modify the natural essence of the product, what could diminish the farmer's quality of life. It is noteworthy that when talking about Organic and Family Farming from the perspective of psychology, it took into consideration not only psychological, but also cultural, economic, anthropological and social aspects. The present study aims to analyze the perception of rural workers who have undergone the resettlement process of Vila Madureira about their quality of life at work by investigating the factors that contribute to the promotion or decrease of quality of life by checking the different perceptions of farmers regarding the conditions and organization of their work and outlining the socio-demographic profile of the group studied. A descriptive exploratory field research with qualitative and quantitative approach was performed. The sample included 10 farmers, six men and four women from eight different families. The structured questionnaire WHOQOL – World Health Organization Quality Of Life instrument was adapted to analyze the quality of life of the respondents and a semi-structured interview was used to verify their perception of their work. As results, aspects of devaluation of the work of these actors, critical economic situation with respect to the income from agriculture and dissatisfaction on the part of the resettlement process were highlighted, however the pleasure in the practice of the agricultural activity and satisfaction in leading a life in the countryside was emphasized. In conclusion, it is possible to say that the quality of these workers is clearly jeopardized, as well as they have a sensible perception of their practice, recognizing the qualities but also the necessary improvements.
