O que os olhos não veem, o coração não sente? Construção e validação de um instrumento brasileiro para avaliar a violência psicológica contra a mulher

Abstract

RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi desenvolver um instrumento capaz de mensurar o nível de violência psicológica praticada por parceiro íntimo contra a mulher, investigando quais comportamentos são identificados como essa forma de violência. Para isso, foram realizados dois estudos. No primeiro, foram analisados o conteúdo e a estrutura interna de 61 itens que descrevem comportamentos considerados como violência psicológica. No segundo, foi feita a confirmação da estrutura fatorial obtida no primeiro estudo e investigada a relação da violência psicológica com estados emocionais negativos e autoestima. Os resultados da análise semântica e de conteúdo indicaram que sete itens deveriam ser excluídos por não representarem adequadamente a violência psicológica. Após Análise Fatorial Exploratória, a melhor estrutura encontrada foi de dois fatores, um com 24 itens que avaliavam Violência Psicológica Direta, como humilhar e menosprezar e outro com 12 itens que avaliavam Violência Psicológica Indireta, como controlar e limitar. A adequação da estrutura foi observada a partir de ótimos ajustes obtidos em Análise Fatorial Confirmatória e excelentes valores de precisão por consistência interna. Também foi possível observar que, quanto maiores os escores de violência psicológica, maiores os escores de estados emocionais negativos e menor a autoestima. Palavras-chave: Psicometria; Violência doméstica; Violência Psicológica. ____ ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate which behaviors are identified as psychological violence practiced by an intimate partner against women and then to develop an instrument capable of measuring levels of this type of violence. Two studies were carried out. In the first, the content and internal structure of 61 behaviors described as psychological violence were analyzed. In the second, the factorial structure obtained in the first study was confirmed and the relationship between psychological violence and negative emotional states and self-esteem was investigated. The results of the semantic and content analysis indicated that seven items should be excluded as they do not adequately represent psychological violence. After Exploratory Factor Analysis, the best structure found was with two factors, one with 24 items that assess Direct Psychological Violence, such as to humiliate and belittle, and another with 12 items that assess Indirect Psychological Violence, such as to control and limit. The adequacy of the structure was observed from the excellent adjustments obtained in Confirmatory Factor Analysis and great values of reliability for internal consistency. It was also possible to observe that the higher the scores of psychological violence, the higher the scores of negative emotional states and the lower the self-esteem.
