Coleção didática zoológica: divulgação científica e auxílio para o ensino e aprendizagem de ciências

Abstract

Resumo Coleções zoológicas possuem grande importância científica e podem ser utilizadas como instrumento didático para auxílio no processo de ensino-aprendizagem de conteúdos ministrados para alunos no ensino fundamental, médio e superior. Neste sentido, o presente estudo teve como objetivos contribuir para a alfabetização científica e para o ensino e aprendizagem de alunos do ensino fundamental, de 10 escolas do município de Codó, MA, por meio de exposições de uma coleção didática zoológica. As atividades foram divididas em três momentos: 1º) Palestra sobre a diversidade de artrópodes, com ênfase em insetos; 2º) Exposição da coleção; 3º) Aplicação de questionário para avaliar a qualidade da exposição e o grau de conhecimento adquirido pelos alunos. Dos 200 discentes que responderam ao questionário, 91% afirmaram que gostaram muito da exposição; 49% disseram ter aprendido muito sobre o assunto ensinado; 94% consideraram esta atividade muito importante; 68% afirmaram ter sido excelente a apresentação dos expositores; 78% informaram que gostariam muito que seu professor trabalhasse o tema em sala de aula; 94% conseguiram identificar corretamente as características morfológicas básicas de um inseto; 83% identificaram um inseto entre as imagens de outros artrópodes; 77% caracterizaram um inseto corretamente por meio da observação da imagem de um exemplar; 69% consideram os insetos muito importantes para o ser humano e 62% conseguiram reconhecer os insetos quando foram misturados com outros artrópodes. Este trabalho foi muito importante para a alfabetização científica e aprendizagem dos alunos acerca da diversidade e importância dos artrópodes, com ênfase nos insetos. ____ Abstract Zoological collections have great scientific importance and can be used as a didactic tool to aid in the teaching-learning process of the content taught to students in middle and high school, and higher education. In this sense, the present study aimed to contribute to scientific literacy and to the teaching-learning of middle school students from 10 schools in the municipality of Codó, MA, through exhibitions of a didactic zoological collection. The activities were divided into three moments: 1º) Lecture on the diversity of arthropods, with an emphasis on insects; 2º) Exhibition of the collection; 3º) Application of a questionnaire to assess the quality of the exhibition and the degree of knowledge acquired by students. Of the 200 students who answered the questionnaire, 91% stated that they liked the exhibition very much; 49% said they had learned a lot about the subject taught; 94% considered this activity very important; 68% stated that the exhibitors' presentation was excellent; 78% reported that they would like their teacher worked on the topic in the classroom; 94% were able to identify correctly the basic morphological characteristics of an insect; 83% identified an insect among the images of other arthropods; 77% characterized an insect correctly by observing the image of a sample; 69% consider insects very important for humans and 62% were able to recognize insects when they were mixed with other arthropods. This work was very important for scientific literacy and student learning about the diversity and importance of arthropods, with an emphasis on insects.
