dc.descriptionABSTRACT This work presents apartheid in South Africa and its policies of control and repression, bringing the main contributions of the United Nations Commission on the Racial Situation in the Union of South Africa (UNSCOR) and the Special Commission on Apartheid (CEA). Reporting on government policies in South Africa regarding apartheid, the work also analyzes the views of authors who wrote about apartheid, comparing them with de UN reports. To carry out this work, reports from UNSCOR, CEA and study of bibliographies were used. The reports that I analyzed were published between 1953 and 1955 and later the reports of the second commission, CEA from 1963 to 1973. The question is: How that reports contributed to the understanding of the crimes committed by the governments of South Africa and to stop it? One of the findings is that, the UN committees contributed to make them known in various parts of the world.pt_BR
dc.description.abstractRESUMO Este trabalho apresenta o apartheid na África do Sul e suas políticas de controle e repressão, trazendo as principais contribuições da Comissão das Nações Unidas sobre a Situação Racial na União da África do Sul (UNSCOR) e da Comissão Especial sobre o Apartheid (CEA). Relatando sobre as políticas governamentais na África do Sul em relação ao apartheid, o trabalho também analisa as opiniões de autores que escreveram sobre o apartheid, comparando-as com os relatórios da ONU. Para a realização deste trabalho, foram utilizados relatórios da UNSCOR, CEA e estudo de bibliografias. Os relatórios que analisei foram publicados entre 1953 e 1955 e posteriormente os relatórios da segunda comissão, CEA de 1963 a 1973. A questão é: Como esses relatórios contribuíram para a compreensão dos crimes cometidos pelos governos da África do Sul e para impedir isto? Uma das constatações é que os comitês da ONU contribuíram para torná-los conhecidos em várias partes do mundo.pt_BR
