Creating the creative actor: skinner's contributions to the teaching of creative acting in the stanislavski system

Abstract

RESUMO Este trabalho teve como objetivo principal elencar contribuições de Skinner para o desenvolvimento da atuação criativa no Sistema Stanislavski. Para isso foi feita uma leitura exploratória de algumas obras de Skinner que abordam a criatividade visando identificar como ocorre o ensino de comportamentos criativos de acordo com o autor. Buscando também identificar a manipulação de antecedentes, precorrentes e o papel da comunidade verbal no desenvolvimento de comportamentos criativos, foram analisadas as obras de Stanislavski, A preparação do ator e A construção da personagem. A partir da análise foram elencadas contribuições no âmbito teórico, como a adoção do externalismo e a concepção de criatividade como operante e, no âmbito prático, o treino de comportamentos específicos a fim de aumentar o repertório comportamental e garantir a forma artística, além da manipulação de contingências com baixo grau de especificação. Por fim, discute-se a possibilidade da interlocução entre a arte e o comportamentalismo proposto por Skinner.__ABSTRACT This research had as main objective to list Skinner's contributions to the development of acting in the Stanislavski System. In order to achieve this an exploratory reading of some works by Skinner that approach creativity was made to identify how the teaching of creative behaviors occurs according to the author. Also seeking to identify the manipulation of antecedents, precurrents and the role of the verbal community in the development of creative behaviors, Stanislavski's An Actor Prepares and Building a character were analyzed. From the analysis, contributions were listed in the theoretical scope, such as the adoption of externalism and the conception of creativity as an operant behavior and, and in the practical scope, the training of specific behaviors in order to increase the behavioral repertoire and guarantee the artistic form and manipulation of contingencies with a low degree of specification, in order to generate creative behaviors. Finally, the possibility of dialogue between art and behaviorism proposed by Skinner is discussed.
