“No meu interior não tem essas arrumações”: estudantes oriundos de pequenas cidades e suas experiências de sociabilidade em uma cidade de médio porte

Abstract

RESUMO: Esse artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que visou compreender os processos de socialização e de sociabilidades de migrantes de pequenas cidades que mudam para cidades médias – no nosso estudo de caso, o município de Imperatriz-MA. Nos detivemos em investigar esse processo de reinserção em um novo espaço urbano, onde entram em contato valores e formas de agir diferenciados da sua localidade de origem. Se antes lidavam com a pessoalidade PRADO (1998) como a principal forma de sociabilidade, hoje experimentam também interações marcadas pelo distanciamento, em uma forma de sociabilidade chamada por SIMMEL (2005) de atitude blasé. Tendo essa perspectiva buscamos analisar a construção e adequação deste indivíduo e de suas sociabilidades no contexto da cidade média. Para isso foram desenvolvidas entrevistas abertas, com 5 indivíduos, todos maiores de idade, que migraram dessas cidades de pequeno porte. Esses migrantes são estudantes, em sua maioria universitários, que se mudaram para Imperatriz com o intuito de prosseguir com seus estudos. As entrevistas revelaram que a cidade de Imperatriz lhes parece impessoal em relação a sua experiência anterior (algo que muitas vezes gera um conflito interno e no campo dos valores), e para isso criam núcleos de convivência em quem mantêm um sistema de intensa sociabilidade, muitas vezes interagindo com pessoas da mesma origem (oriundos de pequenas cidades). No entanto, o sistema de impessoalidade pode ser útil para a construção de uma identidade fora dos rígidos controles das suas comunidades de origem. ABSTRACT: This article presents the results of a study that aimed to understand the socialization and sociability processes of migrants from small cities who move to medium-sized cities – in our case study, the municipality of Imperatriz-MA. We focused on investigating this process of reintegration into a new urban space, where values ​​and ways of acting that are different from those in their place of origin come into contact. If before they dealt with personalism (PRADO, 1998) as the main form of sociability, today they also experience interactions marked by distance, in a form of sociability called by SIMMEL (2005) a blasé attitude. With this perspective, we sought to analyze the construction and adaptation of this individual and his sociability in the context of the medium-sized city. To this end, open interviews were conducted with 5 individuals, all of whom were adults, who migrated from these small cities. These migrants are students, mostly university students, who moved to Imperatriz with the intention of continuing their studies. The interviews revealed that the city of Imperatriz seems impersonal to them in relation to their previous experience (something that often generates an internal conflict and in the field of values), and for this reason they create groups of coexistence in which they maintain a system of intense sociability, often interacting with people from the same origin (from small towns). However, the system of impersonality can be useful for the construction of an identity outside the rigid controls of their communities of origin.
