Entre o Oikos e a Pólis: representações do papel feminino na sociedade ateniense a partir das obras de Aristófanes (século V a.C.)

Abstract

Resumo: A presente pesquisa tem como tema a compreensão da dicotomia acerca da representação feminina nas obras do dramaturgo Aristófanes (séc. V a.C): Lisístrata, Assembleia das Mulheres e As Mulheres que Celebram as Tesmophorias. Nelas, iremos analisar as representações e restrições impostas às mulheres na sociedade ateniense, como também identificar estratégias e o controle utilizado pelas mulheres atenienses na busca de seus objetivos para além do ambiente doméstico (oikos). Aristófanes coloca estas personagens femininas como cidadãs e protagonistas de suas histórias mesmo que de forma cômica, além disso o autor trabalha a mulher bem-nascida, trazendo um discurso diferente da mulher ideal e de toda sua passividade, colocando-as como estrategistas, disseminadoras de informações e governantas da pólis grega ateniense. __ Abstract: The theme of this research is to understand the dichotomy surrounding female representation in the works of playwright Aristophanes (5th century BC): Lysistrata, Assembly of Women and Women Celebrating the Thesmophorias. In these works, we will analyze the representations and restrictions imposed on women in Athenian society, as well as identify strategies and control used by Athenian women in the pursuit of their goals beyond the domestic environment (oikos). Aristophanes places these female characters as citizens and protagonists of their stories, even if in a comical way.
