História, arquivo e memória: a importância do arquivo judiciário para a sociedade maranhense.

Abstract

RESUMO: Os arquivos públicos fazem parte da memória de uma sociedade, sendo assim, busca se na ideia de arquivo e memória, compreender as significações dos documentos históricos para formação da sociedade e cidadania de um povo. Esta pesquisa trata se da importância que os arquivos históricos preservados no espaço dos arquivos públicos como o Arquivo do Tribunal de Justiça do Maranhão possuem para a sociedade. Este estudo tem por objetivo geral verificar as heranças das informações dos arquivos disponibilizados no Arquivo do Tribunal de Justiça do Maranhão para destacar a importância desses documentos para a história da sociedade maranhense. Este estudo faz parte de uma pesquisa bibliográfica qualitativa que buscou na literatura disponível os pressupostos teóricos para interpretação dos fenômenos nos documentos coletados. Os resultados obtidos revelaram que a história registrada nos documentos como a carta em 1813 do príncipe regente Dom João anunciou que sucedia estabelecer um Tribunal no Maranhão pelo Vice - Almirante Silva, contribuindo para formação dos atuais Tribunais no Maranhão; a prisão do escrivão Egydio José Gonçalves de forma violenta, acusado de tentativa de assassinato contra João Rodrigues de Oliveira Egás na Igreja Matriz de Viana no dia da eleição de 1863, isso feito por vingança de alguém insatisfeito com Egydio; e também uma mulher que se destacou na sociedade maranhense, Catharina Rosa Pereira de Jesus, século XIX, que tornou-se uma grande comerciante, obtendo fortuna, e também conseguiu estabelecer relações sociais que para uma mulher nessa época, não era muito comum. Esse estudo observou que esses fatos remetem em mudanças nas leis e reconhecimento de uma mulher como pessoa ilustre. Este estudo pretende contribuir com inferências sobre o contexto histórico que tais documentos representam para atual sociedade maranhense, mas limita-se a análise historiográfica de arquivos e memória, cabendo aprofundar os fatos para novas produções científicas.___ABSTRACT: The public archives are part of the memory of a society, thus, it is sought in the idea of archive and memory, understand the meanings of historical documents for the formation of society and citizenship of a people. This research is about the importance that the historical archives preserved in the space of public archives such as the Arquivo do Tribunal de Justiça do Maranhão have for society. This study has the main objective of verifying the inheritance of the information from the files made available in the Arquvivo do Tribunal de Justiça to highlight the importance of these documents for the history of Maranhão's society. This study is part of a qualitative bibliographic research that sought in the available literature the theoretical assumptions for the interpretation of the phenomena in the collected documents. The issues which has obtained revealed that the history recorded in documents such as the letter in 1813 from the Prince Regent Dom João announced that he succeeded in establishing a Tribunal in Maranhão by Vice Admiral Silva, contributing to the formation of the current Courts in Maranhão; the imprisonment of the clerk Egydio José Gonçalves in a violent way, accused of attempted murder against João Rodrigues de Oliveira Egás in the Mother Church of Viana on election day 1863, this done in revenge for someone dissatisfied with Egydio; and also a woman who stood out in the Maranhão society, Catharina Rosa Pereira de Jesus, 19th century, who became a great trader, making a fortune, and also managed to establish social relations that for a woman at that time, that was not very common. This study observed that these facts refer to changes in the laws and recognition of a woman as an illustrious person. This study intends to contribute with inferences about the historical context that such documents represent for the current Maranhão society, yet it is limited to historiographic analysis of archives and memory, and it is fitting to deepen the facts for new scientific productions.
