| Resumo: | RESUMO Introdução: As Instituições de Longa Permanência para Idosos (ILPIs) se tornaram uma alternativa de serviços socioassistenciais e de saúde, visto que a população de pessoas idosas e frágil tem aumentado no país, além disso, estas instituições não podem ser apenas um local de residência, deve oferecer uma estrutura adequada e com serviços de qualidade. Objetivo: Conhecer os serviços oferecidos e infraestrutura das Instituições de Longa Permanência para Idosos do município de São Luís. Método: Trata-se de um estudo transversal descritivo com atualização de georreferenciamento, realizado no período de janeiro a maio de 2025. Os dados foram coletados por meio de fichas de cadastro do Conselho Estadual de Direito da Pessoa Idosa (CEDIMA) que continham informações referentes às ILPIs de São Luís. Tais dados foram analisados no programa Microsoft EXCEL® e atualização de georreferenciamento utilizou-se software GeoDa (versão 1.10) e os mapas foram desenvolvidos no software QGIS (versão 3.2.3). Resultados: Sobre o perfil das cinco ILPIs da cidade, a maioria é de natureza privada (n 4; 57,1%), localizadas no Distrito Cohab, distribuídas entre os bairros Cohab Anil, Chácara Brasil e Olho D ́Água. Sobre a estrutura física das instituições, observamos que as ILPIs Solar do Outono, Lar do Idoso e Recanto do Aconchego são as que apresentam maior estrutura física construída, contudo todas atendem e as recomendações da RDC 501/21. Sobre os serviços oferecidos, as ILPIs Solar do Outono e Lar Idoso são as que apresentam maior quantidade e as demais declararam possuir os serviços básicos para a assistência de saúde e social aos residentes, tais como serviços de enfermagem, nutrição e psicologia. Conclusão: O conhecimento dos serviços oferecidos e infraestrutura das ILPIs atendem as necessidades básicas dos idosos residentes, principalmente as filantrópicas e públicas, pois tais informações são de grande valia para tomar decisões em prol da qualificação do cuidado assistencial e de saúde às pessoas idosas residentes e desmistificar à sociedade que as ILPIs não configuram como depósito de pessoas. |
| Descrição: | ABSTRACT Introduction: Long-Term Care Institutions for the Elderly (LTCIs) have become an alternative for social assistance and health services, as the population of elderly and frail individuals has been increasing in the country. Furthermore, these institutions should not be merely residential places; they must offer adequate infrastructure and quality services. Objective: To identify the services offered and the infrastructure of the Long-Term Care Institutions for the Elderly in the city of São Luís. Method: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study with updated georeferencing, carried out from January to May 2025. Data were collected from the registration forms of the State Council for the Rights of the Elderly (CEDIMA), which contained information regarding the LTCIs in São Luís. The data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel®. For spatial analysis, GeoDa software (version 1.10) was used, and the maps were created using QGIS software (version 3.2.3). Results: Regarding the profile of the five LTCIs in the city, the majority are privately owned (n=4; 57.1%), located in the Cohab District, and distributed across the neighborhoods of Cohab Anil, Chácara Brasil, and Olho D'Água. Regarding the physical infrastructure, the Solar do Outono, Lar do Idoso, and Recanto do Aconchego LTCIs have the largest built areas. However, all institutions comply with the recommendations of RDC 501/21. Concerning the services offered, the Solar do Outono and Lar do Idoso LTCIs provide the widest range of services. The other institutions reported offering basic health and social assistance services to residents, such as nursing, nutrition, and psychology. Conclusion: The assessment of the services and infrastructure indicates that the LTCIs, especially the philanthropic and public ones, meet the basic needs of their elderly residents. This information is highly valuable for decision-making aimed at improving the quality of social and health care for these residents and for demystifying to society that LTCIs are not considered as a place to store people. |
